The New National Infrastructure Program from 2007 to 2012 gives a clear view about infrastructure strategies in Mexico for the future. It establishes the objectives, goals and actions that the federal government will promote to increase the coverage, quality and competitiveness in this strategic sector. The program describes specific projects for highways, railroads, ports, airports, telecommunications, water supply and sanitation, irrigation and flood control, electricity, oil and gas production, refinery, gas and petrochemicals. The main investments will be undertaken in oil and gas production, electricity and telecommunications.

Mexico has good conditions to finance long-term infrastructure projects due to a healthy and stable economy. For the first time, the Mexican Federal Government is considering as its key success factor, joint investments from public and private sector. Thanks to this open approach, as well as other positive elements such as reforms and both political and economical stability, the 301 billion dollar investment of the outstanding expected scenario is within reach. Currently, there are many projects being executed and during this year many others will be launched.

This new and ambitious program will create an unrivaled infrastructure platform in Latin America, which will raise the quality of life in Mexico by guaranteeing a better and richer future for future generations. It will create as well, important business opportunities for our partners and well-advised investors.
